Abstract

This study aims to examine the factors influencing the lack of participation in waqf takaful in Indonesia. By employing the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) as the research framework, this study identifies factors such as knowledge, accessibility, willingness, and trust in takaful institutions that influence customers' intentions to participate in waqf takaful. Lack of awareness and education regarding waqf takaful products, as well as mistrust in takaful institutions, are the primary factors hindering participation. The objective of the study is to identify the factors influencing the lack of participation in waqf takaful in Indonesia. Research questions involve the lack of awareness and education regarding waqf takaful products, as well as trust in takaful institutions. This study utilizes secondary data analysis and literature review to obtain research findings. The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) is used as the research framework. The results indicate that increasing public education and awareness, cooperation between Islamic financial institutions, religious institutions, and the government, as well as better compliance with regulations by takaful institutions, can help increase participation in waqf takaful in Indonesia. Furthermore, effective promotion and increased trust in takaful institutions are also necessary to build strong relationships with customers and enhance compliance with waqf takaful products. This study contributes significantly to understanding the factors influencing the lack of participation in waqf takaful in Indonesia and provides guidance to Islamic financial institutions and other stakeholders to increase participation in waqf takaful in this country. This study will contribute to more effective marketing strategies and can be utilized by the takaful industry.
